Are you looking for a movie to watch with your family? Here’s a movie you can watch! This film follows a trio of K pop stars, Huntr/x, who secretly hunt demons. They face off against a rival boy band called the Saja Boys, whose members are secretly demons. One of the members of Huntr/x, Rumi, is half demon, however, she hides this from her friends. This film was a wild ride from stunning visuals to themes of self acceptance. The animation was amazing and reminded me of Spider Man: Into the Spider Verse. The cinematography and sound was great as well. I could feel each bass drop and the songs were very intense. From capturing different angles, to epic fight scenes, the cinematography was epic. The songs were catchy and, even though I don’t like K pop, I could totally listen to them a few times. The jokes were funny and I found myself laughing very often. I did, however, feel like the plot was fairly predictable and the ending was kind of anticlimactic. In contrast, the characters felt like they were being developed throughout the film. The voice actors really gave it their all and I could feel the intense emotion of the characters throughout the film. This movie explores themes of self acceptance, embracing your true self, the power of music and community, and the healing power of connection and vulnerability despite past trauma. This film also blended elements of Korean culture with mythology. Overall, this was an enjoyable movie for me and is definitely rewatchable.
