You’ve probably seen our weather segment and maybe you wonder how we get the segment done from start to finish.  Here is checklist and you can make your own weather segment!

Step One (Monday) –  We start in Canva  to make the opening graphic.The starting graphic has the title and names.  We also put something fun or ready for a holiday or special show.

Step Two (Tuesday) –  Check what the weather is going to be for the weekend on Weather.com or syracuse.com and take notes.

Step Three (Tuesday) –  Make a graphic for the weather showing high and low temperature along with any rain or snow in the forecast.

Step Four (Wednesday) – Pick a photo to  use as a background to replace the green screen after we record.  We pick something fun or sometimes we have a theme like Halloween.

Step Five (Wednesday) – We use the studio to film the weather. We can record on either an iPad or use the main cameras if we want to use multiple cameras.

Step Six (Wednesday/ Thursday) – Edit the  weather. We use iMovie to add in the graphics, add music, replace the green screen and edit the segment to the final cut.

Step Seven (Wednesday/ Thursday) –  Make sure the downloaded movie file is correct  and put the file in the weekly episode folder.
