The Chittenango Bears Boys Golf team is off to a 6-2 start after kicking off the season with the first match/game for a Bear in late August. The team traveled took on ESM on August 21st just three days into the season and defeated the Spartans in a tight battle. On August 16th the packed van traveled to Willowbrook Golf Course in Cortland on Aug 26th and brought home a win, just missing a sectional qualifying score by 1 stroke! Anthony Thousand posted an individual qualifier and took home the medalist honors with a 37. Following Cortland, the team posted wins against Homer, Mexico, Central Square, Phoenix while going down in tough matches to Westhill and CBA. After a great first half of the season, the team swaps home and away starting with a trip to Greenview Country Club in hopes of posting the away team qualifying score of 210. The Thousand brothers, Anthony and Luca, seniors Ryan Skoglund, Norman Coomer, Matthew Huckabee and Dylan Brownson, along with Wyatt Perry, Finn Gardner, Sam Martin and Jack Khammar have all posted sub 45s this season. “Ant” leads the team in average, birdies and league points and shot a season low two under par last week at Rogues.
