Over Winter Break the Chittenango Wrestling team traveled to Oswego college December 28th and 29th for a two day tournament, and faced off against twenty five other teams with placements coming from Noah Haarman, Tyler Addison, Daniel Mahle, Miles Wilson and Deagan Capobianco, with the team placing 11th out of 26 teams. Then on January 3rd the team went to Port Byron as a last minute decision dropping the Fayetteville Manlius team duel tournament and travelling an hour away for a hard tournament. Chittenango faced eleven other teams with Varsity and Junior Varsity wrestlers placing and did well. Varsity place finishers include Samuel Schulz, Tyler Addison, Daniel Mahle, Kole Smith, Deagan Capobianco, Elias Alling, and Ryan Oppenheimer. With the Junior Varsity place finishers including Collin Welch, Henry Schober, Khymahni Gibson, Noah Woodham, Riley Ewing, Damien Jenne. Then on January 7th the wrestling team had a tough match against Jordan Elbridge with only one junior varsity match and many close individual matches. One of the wrestlers has been hurt from the Ken Haines Oswego tournament. Trevor McDonald could be out for the season. Words from Trevor: “Your neck injuries are not that serious.”
