As the first semester comes to an end in our 6th period broadcast media class, it’s time to reflect on the skills developed by students both in front of and behind the camera. From students learning how to write enticing articles for Bear Den News, managing live productions and tight deadlines for our weekly show, reading off of a teleprompter, the experience of working together with others in a very collaborative way, to interviewing for segments. Wrapping up the semester feels rewarding, marking growth in confidence and preparation for the demands of professional broadcast environments.
Our main anchors of the show included Jaymes Ronalds, Ashlin Mcdermott, Isabella LaPoint, Kathi Rink, Chloe Payton, Leah Carr, and Vivianne Tedford. You guys did an amazing job delivering all of the announcements and news for the week. Behind the camera we thank Cole Dawkins, and Evan Tianello for the audio and camera skills. Of course our show wouldn’t have been as entertaining without our amazing sports anchors Trevor Mcdonald, and Ethan Reynolds. And very special thank you to our editors Chloe Payton, Kendra Garlock, Caleb Schielber, Veccicho, Daniel Mahle, Alex Puglino and last but not least Ms. Norman, and Mr. Syltra we couldn’t have a show without you guys.
During my time in this class I was a recurring news anchor and I learned how to read off of a teleprompter, write our script for the show, and improv when filming. I also spent some time behind the camera when I wasn’t anchoring, doing things like working the cameras and audio. I also enjoyed making segments for our show. However I really enjoyed editing the blooper segments the most. Gathering our funniest moments was very entertaining.
We as a class are so excited to see what the semester two classes prepare for our show!
