On Monday, 5/11, the Chittenango boys lacrosse team faced VVS for our senior night. They honored seniors Ian Bentz, Norman Coomer, Carter Haarman, Bryce and Brody Asmussen, Logan Mills, Conner Bradbury, and Cole Dawkins. The Bears fought a hard game against VVS, winning 7–3.
The scoring from the Bears came from Levi Baran with two goals, Karson Vaughn with two goals, and Cole Dawkins, Norman Coomer, and Cody Hammerschmidt all with one goal each, with assists coming from Hudson Baran (3), Cole Dawkins (2), and Cody Hammerschmidt (1). At the face off, Hudson Baran and Ian Bentz controlled the game with four wins each. The Bears goalie Conner Bradbury stopped the Red Devils with 15 saves and an 83% save percentage.
This was a special night for these seniors. With only 3 games left, this is one of their last chances to play in a high school lacrosse game. Bryce Asmussen says, “it was a good night to remember our seniors…it was a great game to remember our season; it was a physical and tough game.” Cole Dawkins said, “it was fun because we won; we all played as a team, and nobody really had a bad game.” This will be a memory that these seniors will never forget and will stay with them wherever they go in life.
