The CHS Girls Lacrosse team celebrated Senior Night in style with a hard fought win against the neighbor and rival Cazenovia Lakers. Festivities kicked off with time to thank parents, family and other supporters and outstanding speeches by the underclassmen recognizing the many contributions of the Class of 2026. Sisters Solana and Persephone shared a special moment on the field with the family as their time on the many fields and courts comes to an end shortly. After the ceremony, the team got to work, jumping out to a 4-1 lead before the Lakers came storming back taking an 8-6 lead into half time. Clutch saves by Susi Horning (15 total) in the second half along with the offensive barrage from Anna Lazzaro (5 goals), Reese Ferstler (2 goals) and Solana Rohrer (2 goals) were instrumental in the win. A late penalty on the Bears might have given Coach Rosenberg a couple grey hairs, but the excellent defense efforts of Natalie Fox and Savannah Hailey sealed the victory. Great win as the team rides a four game win streak into the final seven games of the season. If you’re looking for a fun road trip, pick up some ice cream at the North Pole then head over to Caz for the rematch on May 18th, sure to be another great game!
