On Tuesday, May 26th, the boys track team traveled to Vernon Verona Sherrill for the Class B-2 Sectional Championship. The boys had an amazing start to the meet, leading the section in points. William Kimball and Joshua Lin held their own in the early hurdle events. William Kimball ran a 55.8, beating the school record, and Joshua Lin ran a 57.56, coming in second place. In the sprinters’ event, Brody Olds and David Oyewole were also scoring points. David came in 3rd place for both the 100m and 200m, running a 11.43s 100m and a 22.8s 200m. On the distance side, Bryce Edwards ran the mile and came in third with a time of 4:39s. A team of Carlos Patino, Noah Chapman, Vinny Abt, and Kiptyn Baldoze also scored numerous points in the 4x800m and 800m, coming in second place. Finally, Zachary Driscoll ran the 2-mile and 3k steeplechase, finishing in the top 3 in the 2-mile. Overall, the boys outdoor team performed well on Tuesday and looks forward to keeping the momentum, going to State Qualifiers on Wednesday, June 3rd. Good Luck Bears!
