Today I have started a teacher spotlight to get to know the teachers more! Every other week I am going to interview and introduce different teachers around the Chittenango building. If you have a special request or want to add your favorite teacher in an article email [email protected] with your teacher’s name and great things about them! This week is going to be all about Mrs. Carpenter. Mrs Carp is a very bubbly and sweet person in general. She is very involved in multiple different school activities. Carp doesn’t only teach project based physics but she’s also the boys varsity golf coach and teaches broadcast media. I personally have Mrs Carp as a teacher for broadcast media and I think she is very kind and she helps out everyone in ways some students don’t even realize. If someone slacks off or forgets to do something that affects our show carp is always there to make sure everything is done and helps with the show too. Even though our class is student run, Carp is there to do things that no one does. She sometimes does graphics, editing, helping with these articles and gets segment ideas. Carp always has multiple ideas and will never let us not have something to write about. She also has done so much for our class like taking time out of her personal life to bake cookies for us for segments or things like spending her personal money to make sure we have fun too. Mrs Carp coaches boys golf and they all agree she’s a great coach and person. For project based physics I asked her students how they enjoy Mrs Carp’s teaching. “ Mrs Carp is a fun teacher and a joke she had was the only thing you need to learn is don’t touch the hot glue gun it is very hot”. Carp also does science olympia and math club. As you can tell she is very involved with our high school and everyone is very grateful for her. She is retiring THIS year and will be missed by me personally and everyone else. Make sure you get some good memories in with Carp before she leaves!
