This year on June 5th 3pm-8pm, June 6th 10am-8pm, to June 7th 10am- 4pm  2026 Chittenango village will be hosting a 49th annual Oz Stravaganza festival in Chittenango Ny.The Oz- Stravaganza began in 1978 as a small birthday party for L. Frank Baum, the Chittenango born author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. It was started by Chittenango village Liberian Clara Houck, who gathered local children in Oz costumes to parade around the library and eat birthday cake. And has evolved as the largest and longest-running Wizard of Oz-themed Ivan in the world; this event attracts up to 30,000 visitors over the three day weekend. This year’s festival embraces the theme Behind the Curtain; there will be 3 special guests attending the oz fest this year including Emmy winning Z historian John Fricke, Baum’s great granddaughter Gita Dorothy Morena, and actress Marissa Bode who stars as Nessarose the wicked films. The festival will be having Fireworks on Friday and a huge parade on Saturday and the grand finale Sunday there will be a costume contest,writing and coloring competitions the festival will also have rides, games and food. There will also be a live music stage as well. Admission and parking for the entire festival are completely free. You can also step away from the carnival rides to explore the All Things Oz Museum on Genesee street which features a vast collection of rare Oz memorabilia  There is also a wizards Wonderland silent auction d throughout the weekend to support the volunteer led foundation.
