On November 16, 2025 musicians from Chittenango High School went to Destiny USA Mall to perform music, live in the Canyon (a specific section on the western side of the mall) to perform for the Destiny Mall Holiday Series. Students from Select Choir, Brass Quintet, and Chamber Orchestra gave up some of their time during school to travel to the mall and sing/play Christmas music for everyone at the Canyon. In total, the three groups played for an hour and everyone had a great time.

Every year students from different local high schools perform at this event. Many people came to listen to these talented musicians (no matter where these musicians are from) and to enjoy themselves as the Canyon is filled with beautiful music. Even some people from the shops and stores in and around the Canyon came out to listen.

Griffin Schmidt, a member of the Chittenango High School’s Select Choir, was one of the students who played at this event. In fact, this was his first time playing for the Destiny Mall Holiday Series. Griffin said, “I really enjoyed it. I thought it was so much fun, I mean singing with the Select Choir, listening to all the other… listening to all the other people play which is so fun, to go around the mall after and just have fun with all the friends. It was a great time in general”.

This is not the first time Chittenango musicians have gone to this event. Evan Tianello, a member of the Chittenango High School’s Brass Quintet, has played at the Destiny Mall Holiday Series 3 times. Evan said, “I enjoyed doing it because it promotes Chittenango music and shows off all the talent and hard work that these musicians put in”.

Everyone enjoyed themselves and thought that it was a fun event. Hopefully this event will continue for years to come and continue to bring these good times with beautiful music.
