The girls varsity soccer team moved to 7-4 on the 2025 season after beating a tough Skaneateles team 2-1 on Monday night.
The win put them on a three game win streak, with wins coming against Phoenix 5-1, a game in which Abby Scheidelman scored an impressive four goals. Camryn Potter added the fifth goal and two assists in the victory. Senior goalie Susana Horning was terrific in the net, tallying eleven saves.
Saturday, the Bears took on Cincinnatus at home and won 3-1. Scheidelman scored two of their three goals and Potter added a goal. Horning again was fantastic in the net, tallying 15 saves to one goal allowed in the victory.
Monday, the Bears traveled to Skaneateles and played a great game under the lights. The team fought hard as the game was tied for a long time. But late in the second half, Scheidelman nailed a penalty kick to give the bears the lead and they never looked back. Horning got the win in goal with 13 saves.
“The Bears defense Gracie Brazell, Danielle Ramie, Hannah Dicesare and Vivianne Tedford have all been killing it on defense and locking down other teams.”
The bears have a tough week this week, playing JD, Caz, and Homer. If you see them in the halls, wish them good luck this week as they match up against some tough opponents!
