The Chittenango Girls Basketball team is off to a solid start this season, beating Skaneateles and Jordan Elbridge to start off their season.
They led off with a tough Tully team, taking a close loss. They mounted a comeback but came up just short. Sophomore Guard Ella Sylstra led the team with 17 points and Senior Persephone Rohrer led with 14 rebounds. They lost, 42-33 but Coach saw progress and they came on top in the next game, defeating Skaneateles 41-36. It was again Sylstra leading with 15 points and Junior Abby Scheidelman tallied 13. Freshman Solana Rohrer led with 11 boards.
Following the win they took another heartbreaking loss to the Mexico Tigers. Sylstra had 24 points and her and Senior Savannah Haley had 8 rebounds each. They took the loss, 45-35. They then came out big in their first game of 2026, taking down Jordan Elbridge handily 61-30. Abby Scheidelman tallied 25 points with Sylstra adding 18 to the big win.
“We’ve been playing really well,” Vivianne Tedford said. “I hope we can continue winning games.”
