On Tuesday 4/28 the Chittenango Bears faced off against the Marcellus Mustangs. Coming into the game, the Bears were 9-3 with a 3 game winning streak after losing to Fayetteville-Manlius and Maine Endwell. The Bears started the game putting up 3 runs in the first inning and allowing 0 run from Marcellus, but in the second the Mustangs shut out the bears keeping the score 3-0 going into the 3rd inning. Top of the third, Danica Oppenheimer steps into the batters box with a runner on base. Pitcher Carly Sears threw a fastball down the middle, and the second Danica made contact, it was clear the ball was gone. Danica sent the ball over the fence going 213 feet adding 2 runs for the Bears. The Lady Bears would end up winning 14-1 with Danica Oppenheimer leading the team hitting going 2-3 with 5 RBIs. The Bears travel to westhill to face the wolf-pack. Good luck Bears.
