The Chittenango Boys Varsity soccer team bounced back after a tough loss to start the season, winning their third game in a row last night against Mexico.
Last Thursday night, the Bears took on Utica AOS in their home opener and did not disappoint. The Bears took the win, with a final score of 6-2. Gavin Karwoski led the offense with 5 goals and added an assist. Cohen Touchette also added a goal and an assist. Solomon Mullin led with 2 assists, and Drew Toner and Cody Hammerschmidt also added an assist each. Eli Lefort got the win in goal with 9 saves.
The Bears then traveled to Canastota Saturday in a rainy match, but it did not stop them from putting up 12 goals. Gavin led the offense with 5 goals again, and Alejandro Ramos added 2 goals. Leading with assists were Solomon and Cohen with 2 each. Solomon, Dan Byrne, Drew Toner, Ben Mariani, and Micah Schiralli each added a goal in the blowout win.
“It was easy and fun,” said Cole Dawkins, a Senior Defender. “It felt good and boosted our confidence.”
The Bears also took a win on Tuesday at Mexico. Cohen Touchette led with 2 goals, Alex Scheidelman added 2 assists and Eli Lefort picked up the win in goal.
Chittenango looks to keep the hot streak going as they face Skaneateles on Thursday and Fulton at home Saturday Afternoon.
